The town of Annecy and its famous lake have a reputation that extends far beyond France. Here you’ll find a delicious mix of cultural, natural, escapist and gourmet activities. Discovering old Annecy, with its castle, museums, palaces and canals, is a wonderful introduction to outdoor activities. You can choose to cycle around Lake Annecy, go paragliding or take a hike up Mont Veyrier.

I would be delighted to welcome you to ‘Le Chillou’, which my husband Hervé and I renovated a year ago, so that holidaymakers could discover this peaceful and comfortable place.
It’s a place steeped in history: the history of the commune of Saint Jorioz, on the western shore of Lake Annecy, and our own personal history.
Former hotel, former girls’ school… You will find a trace of this past on the lintel of the living room window, on which is engraved ‘Ecole des jeunes filles de la paroisse 1880’.
Originally from Normandy, my husband and I moved to Haute Savoie and this was the first flat we lived in. We bought its 4 walls in the 90s. The entire layout was created by Hervé, a passionate cabinetmaker who used to run a furniture workshop. I chose made-to-measure furniture and a decorating theme based around the lake and the palette of blues in its water.
Getting to the gîte in Saint-Jorioz
The gîte is located on the shores of Lake Annecy in Saint-Jorioz, just 10 km from Annecy’s old town. By car, allow 1 hour from Geneva on the A41 and 2 hours from Lyon (A43/A41). Annecy SNCF station is connected to Geneva, Lyon and Paris (TER, TGV and LémanExpress L2).

Is the gîte close to beaches or lake access?
Annecy’lake is within walking distance of the gîte. A small free beach is 250 m
away. A larger beach, at Saint-Jorioz, is 1.2 km away.
How to get to the gîte from the nearest station or airport?
Car hire services are available at Geneva airport and Annecy station, with a
large fleet of cars. It takes around 20 minutes to get to the gîte from
the town centre and 50 minutes from Geneva airport.
Is the gite easily accessible by public transport?
SIBRA bus no. 15 serves Saint-Jorioz from Annecy station. Door-to-door, the
journey takes 50 minutes and it’s a 10-minute walk from the Gendarmerie
bus stop.
Is parking available on site or nearby?
A private parking space is specially reserved for residents.
